Well known among watersports lovers, Tarifa has become the wind capital of Europe. Located in the heart of the Costa de la Luz, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea near the Strait of Gibraltar, the town enjoys a unique position between Europe and Africa. Since the 1990s, Tarifa has attracted windsurfing, kitesurfing and wingfoil enthusiasts thanks to its reliable wind conditions. Depending on the direction, the wind can be warm and strong or cooler and oceanic, creating a variety of water conditions : from flat water and small chop to small waves on certain days.
